Holy Week Monday

QUESTION: Should Holy Week Monday be given the same significance as Good Friday?

ANSWER:

"Holy Week Monday" has a different purpose than Good Friday.

Good Friday observes the crucifixion—Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice for mankind. Yet the message of Christ’s incarnation reverberates across the entire Passion Week.

“The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified . . . it was for this very reason I came to this hour, Father, glorify your name! (John 12:23, 27–28).

In the cleansing of the Temple, as well as the atonement on the Cross, Jesus chose to accomplish His Father’s will, and again “draw all men to myself” (John 12:32).

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?
